many people who see our G‘DAY MATE map magnets always ask:
“how is it so cute and so detailed? how did you make this?”

the answer is actually simple —
countless late nights, endless revisions, and many moments of starting over.
the three of us sat in front of our screens, tweaking every detail,
and we still remember the joy of finally finalising the design at 3am one night.
that feeling is unforgettable.

to create the full collection, we didn’t just design the australia and nsw maps.
we went on to design the other states as well —
all because we wanted to piece together what we believe is a small, lovely memory of australia.

every state, every tiny icon, every little face you see
was redrawn, recoloured, adjusted, and refined over and over again.
none of it happened by accident.

the koala, kangaroo, dolphins, ferry, opera house…
each cute character wasn’t just “added in”.
we researched, brainstormed, and experimented with styles
until they felt just right for the map.

after the designs were complete,
we worked with different manufacturers to bring them to life —
adjusting materials, confirming colours, testing samples, reworking, retesting…
every step was more complicated than we expected,
but we were determined to get the perfect version.

when the very first batch arrived at our doorstep,
we all had the same feeling —
“this is really something we created with our sleepless nights!”

looking back now,
these map magnets are more than souvenirs.
they’re tiny maps filled with stories —
carrying our patience, our effort, and our love for creating.
