A clear photo helps us see the details that make your dog or cat recognisable. You do not need a professional camera: a well-lit phone photo is a good place to start.
Choose a clear, well-lit face
Pick a photo with the eyes, nose, ears and fur markings in focus. A front-facing photo or a gentle three-quarter angle works well as a reference. Keep the whole head in the frame, including the ears.
Try taking a photo near a window or outdoors in open shade. Avoid strong backlighting, heavy shadows across the face and flash that hides the eye colour. For black or white fur, choose a photo where you can still see detail in the coat.
Use the original photo
Choose the original image from your phone when possible. Screenshots, social-media downloads and heavily cropped images can lose detail. Avoid beauty filters, cartoon effects and stickers covering your pet's face.
Our upload form accepts JPG and PNG files up to 10 MB. If your phone photo is HEIC, export a copy as JPG or PNG before uploading; changing the filename alone does not convert it.
What happens to your photo?
Your photo is the reference for a made-to-order embroidered keepsake. Embroidery uses coloured thread, so its texture and fine details will differ from a photograph. The images currently shown in our custom gift gallery are labelled AI concept examples, rather than photographs of completed customer orders.
Choose your keepsake
Choose a custom pet embroidery keyring with white felt backing, or a framed embroidered pet portrait in a 20.7 × 20.7 cm wood frame with a white edge. You can add your pet's name in the optional name field.
